Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aeronautical Engineering Instructor to join our team at the Ministry of Defence. As a Specialist Instructional Officer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality technical training to RAF engineers in the field of Aeronautical Engineering.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive training environment, where you will have the chance to shape and nurture the next generation of Service Mechanical Specialists. You will be involved in developing and delivering training programs that will boost employee's workplace performance and confidence, in alliance with Service core values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver theoretical and practical training programs in Aeronautical Engineering
  • Conduct training needs assessments and create training plans to meet the needs of RAF engineers
  • Deliver training in a classroom and practical setting, using modern learning methods and equipment
  • Assess the skills and knowledge of trainees and determine what training is needed to grow and nurture their skills
  • Work collaboratively with other trainers and instructors to develop and deliver training programs

Requirements

  • Level 3 General Engineering qualification (with skills transferrable to AE mechanical)
  • Desirable: Level 3 Aeronautical Engineering (AE) Mechanical qualification
  • Desirable: CertEd (or higher) teaching/training qualification

Working Environment

The post is based at RAF Cosford, with some travel required to other locations. The working environment is a mixture of classroom and practical based training delivery, using modern learning methods and equipment.
