About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Social Care Educator to join our team at Regent College London. As a Lecturer in Health and Social Care, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver high-quality teaching sessions to students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of student data.
    • Develop and deliver teaching materials for modules, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
    • Use digital tools and platforms to support teaching and learning, including VLEs and MS Teams.
    • Contribute to the development of assessments and ensure they are approved in accordance with College procedures.
    • Identify and escalate cases of possible academic misconduct.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, signposting them to specialist College services as needed.
    • Monitor student progress and liaise with specialist services to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute to Programme Committee meetings, ensuring the continuous improvement of student learning experiences.
    • Engage with College quality assurance and academic governance frameworks.
    • Contribute to the accreditation of programmes and quality control processes.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience of teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
  • Significant experience within a subject area relevant to the School.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Ability to achieve key performance indicators through persuasion and negotiation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Commitment to a high-performance culture, fostering continuous improvement and driving quality.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline.
  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to work towards.
  • Experience of teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
  • Appropriate digital skills in learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or willingness to work towards.
  • Membership of a Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB).
