About Our Client
We're working with a dynamic team that's already well-established in Europe and the US, partnering with venture-backed startups to offer tailored financing solutions. This enables companies to scale rapidly and maximize their potential.
They're looking to hire a Principal-level professional to establish a new London office, working alongside an existing UK venture partner and support from the Swiss and German teams. An Associate hire for London is planned for later this year.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing their presence in the UK as a leading asset financing specialist for startups. They're seeking an entrepreneurially-minded individual with tenacity and communication skills, who brings deal-making experience and an existing UK venture network.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the operational setup of the new London office and help hire, build, and lead the growing team.
- Establish and build the firm's network and reputation in the UK's venture capital and technology ecosystems.
- Develop deal flow via various channels, including key events in the UK and Europe, VC and startup networks, industry and university stakeholders, regional hubs, and clusters.
- Drive transactions from initial engagement to successful deal close, including structuring and negotiation of the firm's leasing and debt solutions.
- Lead deal analysis and commercial/financial due diligence, including interviews, financial modeling, and preparation of investment memos.
- Portfolio management, including ongoing risk monitoring and follow-on transactions.
Requirements
- An entrepreneurial, self-motivated team player.
- Undergraduate and preferably a graduate degree in business or science/technology.
- Significant relevant work experience, ideally in venture debt or venture capital, or a strong background with deal-driven roles in investment banking, leveraged finance, or private equity.
- Intellectual inquisitiveness and the ability to explore creative solutions to potential customers' needs and structure and negotiate commercial terms.
- Excellent interpersonal, team working, and communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain complex financial, commercial, and technological topics.
- A strong existing network in the UK venture scene is a plus.
