Environmental Enforcement Officer Role Overview

As an Environmental Enforcement Officer with APCOA, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our local communities. Your primary responsibility will be to enforce environmental laws and regulations, ensuring that residents and visitors adhere to local bye-laws and ordinances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce environmental laws, making inquiries and taking action where necessary.
  • Investigate reports of littering, fly tipping, and dog fouling, and other environmental offenses.
  • Issue Fixed Penalty Notices for offenses where applicable.
  • Prepare and submit cases for trial, assisting legal services in presenting cases to court and attending as a witness when required.
  • Record witness statements and conduct interviews under caution when necessary.
  • Verify and validate personal details of offenders.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including the Police.

Requirements:

  • Experience in enforcement work (including security work) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of green services, such as cleansing and waste collection, is desirable.
  • Ability to adapt and engage with diverse audiences, working effectively as part of a team.
  • Capacity to handle complaints and resolve complex issues.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards work.
  • A full clean driving license is essential.
