Ambulatory Care Nurse

Job Summary:
Brownlow Health, a leading Training Practice with multiple sites across Liverpool, seeks a skilled Ambulatory Care RN to join their Research Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery and expansion of research into Primary Care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of research studies, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality research delivery.
- Oversee a portfolio of research studies at various stages of completion and intervention, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Conduct physical assessments, take blood/urine samples, and process them according to research study protocol, ensuring patient care and research processes are conducted with dignity and respect.
- Care for research participants, providing health promotion and patient education opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient events in nursing/medical notes and Case Report Forms.
- Ensure research-specific investigations are undertaken as required by the protocol, obtaining results to establish eligibility and safety to enter the research study.
- Safely administer treatments/drugs within the context of a clinical research trial, assessing and managing any adverse reactions.
- Act as a resource for other research nurses/HCAs/admin staff within the research team, promoting the delivery of allocated research studies.
- Ensure study delivery meets requirements with regards to the UK policy framework for health and social care research and the EU Clinical Trials Directive, implementing quality systems.
- Participate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training, keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation or practice.
- Contribute to study set-up, recruitment planning, and study delivery, promoting the appropriate referral and recruitment of patients to clinical research studies.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and concise records are kept for research projects in accordance with all regulatory requirements, including the Data Protection Act.
- Transcribe data accurately where required, assist with the maintenance of the Study Site File, and respond to data queries in a timely manner.
- Record and report adverse and serious adverse events that occur while participants are in the research study.
- Assess and evaluate the progress of ongoing studies, maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to the research team.
- Discuss ongoing study performance issues with the PI, cooperating with external and internal audit, data monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Advocate for research, provide education and training on research projects to interested parties as required, and mentor new research nurses and provide clinical support as needed.
Requirements:
- Registered Part 1 NMC.
- Qualification or experience in Research.
Experience:
- Knowledge of clinical governance, confidentiality, data protection, and information governance in primary care.
- Knowledge of the local and national health policy and wider health economy.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults' policies and procedures.
- Experience of working within primary care.
- Minimum of 2 years band 6 experience.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check:
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
Salary: £35,392 to £50,056 a year, Band 6/7 depending on experience.
