Job Title: Senior Environmental Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Officer to join our Water Quality and Environment team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing environmental risks across designated regions, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations, and facilitating Environment Agency site inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with operations across designated regions.
- Regularly review and amend environmental permits to ensure they remain up-to-date and reflective of operational practices.
- Facilitate and lead Environment Agency site inspections, coordinating with internal teams to ensure sites meet audit requirements.
- Conduct regular, risk-based site inspections to ensure compliance and readiness for external audits.
- Manage the Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of any non-compliance issues.
- Utilise PowerBI dashboards, TeRI BI reports, and eSCADA trends to monitor environmental performance across sites.
- Lead collaboration between multiple teams, including front-line operational teams, process scientists, and flow compliance technicians, to address and resolve compliance issues.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in wastewater recycling treatment processes, with the ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions. Proven experience in continuous improvement, with a track record of identifying and implementing process enhancements, is also beneficial. A full UK driving license is essential.
