Main Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing technical support and assistance to staff and stakeholders
  • Installing and troubleshooting PC/printer hardware/software
  • Server Virtualisation and Windows Operating systems - client and server
  • IP networking and fundamentals
  • Communicating complex technical issues to users at all levels
  • Working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Prioritising tasks and solving problems

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A valid driving licence to drive in the UK
  • Own vehicle suitable for movement of equipment
  • Degree level or experience and evidenced continuous development
  • ECDL, CLAIT, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or Microsoft MCP Yes Certification/application
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge of, and experience in: Windows Server based computers Server Virtualisation/VMWare/ Nutanix / Rubrik

Qualities

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Ability to work together and as part of the wider infrastructure and digital teams
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • Ability to communicate highly complex technical issues using jargon free terminology, to users at all levels
  • Able to communicate in report format, diagrams
  • Ability to work under pressure, use own initiative, work to tight deadlines, be flexible, work in a changing environment, solve problems, prioritise
