Job Summary

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Support Worker to join their team at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

As a Pharmacy Support Worker, you will work closely with the Pharmacy team to provide an effective pharmacy service in the Dispensary, at Ward Level, and to support the dispensing of out-patient prescriptions.

Main Duties

Identify, select, and issue drugs in a timely and accurate manner.

Receive and update stock levels using the Pharmacy Computer System.

Deal with telephone enquiries, ward, department, and community issues in a professional and courteous manner.

Support the movement of work around the organisation, including medicines and pharmacy orders.

Load and operate the automated pharmacy storage and dispensing system.

Job Responsibilities

Work with and support Pharmacy Technicians in the Pharmacy Store to:

Identify, select, and issue drugs.

Receive and update stock levels using the Pharmacy Computer System.

Deal with telephone enquiries, ward, department, and community issues.

Load and operate the automated pharmacy storage and dispensing system.

Participate in ward top-up system.

Appropriately dispose of pharmaceutical items.

Ensure appropriate storage of pharmaceutical items.
