About the Role

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Support Worker to join their team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. As a Pharmacy Support Worker, you will work closely with the Pharmacy team to provide an effective pharmacy service in the Dispensary, at Ward Level, and to support the dispensing of out-patient prescriptions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify, select, and issue medications to patients.
  • Receive and process medications against official orders, utilizing the Pharmacy Computer System to update stock levels.
  • Handle telephone inquiries, ward, department, and community issues.
  • Support the movement of work around the organization, including medications and pharmacy orders.
  • Operate the automated pharmacy storage and dispensing system.
  • Participate in the ward top-up system.
  • Properly dispose of pharmaceutical items.
  • Ensure the appropriate storage of pharmaceutical items.
