Position: Senior/Supervising Social Worker

Salary Range: £30,338 - £41,052 per annum based on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist foster parents and their families in achieving exceptional outcomes for all children and young people in foster care.
  • Evaluate and ensure the ongoing suitability and competence of foster parents, guaranteeing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children and young people.
  • Ensure that foster carers fully comprehend the fostering responsibilities, required competencies, and expected standards, including the procedures for complaints and representation as outlined in FCA policies.
  • Provide regular supervision to assigned foster parents in accordance with FCA's Operational Standards.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented approach to identify needs within the foster family, such as respite, activities, therapy, and holidays, engaging with all members of the child's support network.
  • Ensure compliance with all essential documentation for each child and foster parent.
  • Attend meetings and/or prepare reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual care packages.
  • Encourage the participation of children and young people in the agency's development and in accessing local community resources and opportunities.
  • Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rotational basis.
  • Engage in a day 'duty system' on a rotational basis to support the referrals team.
  • Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work England or an equivalent body.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding protocols.
  • Willingness and capability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in potentially challenging situations.
  • Valid driving license.
