Role Overview

As a member of our Private Client Tax team, you will gain hands-on experience in advising on tax-efficient strategies and assisting clients with their financial planning while pursuing your studies.

Advancement within this team is swift, with responsibilities assigned early on. By your second year, you will take on a more senior position with smaller clients and aid in supervising new trainees. As your expertise develops, you may have the chance to engage in various assignments, including control reviews and due diligence projects.

Throughout your training contract, you will work towards the ATT/CTA qualifications and achieve the government-recognized Level 7 Apprenticeship qualification, honing essential soft skills that are highly valued in the professional services industry.

You will commence your studies for your initial professional exams shortly after joining, immediately enhancing your knowledge to support your departmental work. With guidance from a renowned provider and a qualified team sharing similar experiences, you will receive the necessary support and resources to prepare for these exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients and third parties to gather essential information
  • Preparing basic tax returns or repayment claim forms
  • Informing clients about their upcoming tax obligations and related matters
  • Assisting in the formulation of tax advice for clients, including technical research, strategic planning, and report drafting
  • Managing correspondence from clients, HMRC, and other third parties via letter, email, or telephone.

Required Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates should:

  • Be dedicated to completing the Associate Tax Technician and Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT/CTA) qualifications through a Level 7 apprenticeship
  • Hold a minimum of 112 UCAS points from the top three A Levels (or equivalent), excluding General Studies
  • Achieve a minimum Grade 5 (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths at GCSE level

Learning & Development Opportunities:

You will receive support in completing your qualification, acquiring financial knowledge, accountancy skills, and practical business experience to launch your career in accountancy, tax, and business advisory. You will not be alone in this journey; you will join a cohort with a personal support network, including a buddy to share their experiences. Your qualification training will be backed by a leading UK training provider, and you will be given the time and space to study while developing a range of skills to become a well-rounded advisor. Our dedicated Learning & Development team and training contact for your department will ensure you have all the resources needed to realize your potential from day one.

Additional Benefits:

As a valued colleague at Evelyn Partners, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • Competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Pension contributions
  • Hybrid working model (role dependent)
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Option to purchase additional holiday
