Position Overview

As a Language and Communication Specialist at Heathermount School, you will play a crucial role within our innovative onsite multi-disciplinary therapy team focused on enhancing the confidence of students and equipping them for future success. Our therapy team encompasses Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Clinical Psychology.

The Role

In this independent role, you will collaborate with our therapy team to deliver a high-quality educational experience for our young learners. Working alongside senior Speech and Language Therapists, you will provide therapy, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the evolution of our services while advancing your own clinical expertise. You will engage in service-specific initiatives and have the opportunity to implement your own ideas with guidance from experienced professionals.

Your responsibilities will include the assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with intricate speech, language, and communication challenges. You will work closely with families, colleagues, and other professionals within the educational environment.

Compensation

Salary ranges from £35,392 to £42,618 per annum, FTE, depending on experience. (Actual Salary: £22,409 to £25, hours per week, Three days per week, 39 weeks per year)

About Our Institution

Heathermount is a progressive and ambitious specialist institution in Ascot, providing education for children and young individuals aged 4 to 19 years with a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition (ASC) and other challenges such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We are a well-equipped day school with exceptional facilities, set within 14 acres of beautiful grounds that we utilize to enhance student well-being.

Our students follow one of three tailored learning pathways that cater to their individual needs, offering a variety of qualifications and learning experiences from ASDAN and Functional Skills to Level 2 NVQ/BTEC and GCSEs.

Therapeutic practices are integrated throughout the school day, and our therapy team is a vital part of the school community, working closely with staff, students, and families.
