A prominent special education institution is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to provide essential support to children and young individuals with autism, enabling them to thrive in a nurturing educational environment.

Situated on expansive, well-maintained grounds, this institution caters to students aged 4 to 19 with specialized learning requirements related to autism spectrum conditions. It has earned recognition as an Advanced Autism Accreditation educator from the National Autistic Society.

The setting offers a uniquely supportive atmosphere, with small therapeutic classrooms and a dynamic curriculum designed to help students reach their emotional, social, and academic potential.

In this role, you will enjoy a significant level of independence in your daily responsibilities, guided by the clinical oversight of a seasoned Lead Speech and Language Therapist. You will also play a vital role in mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to their professional development. Opportunities for service enhancement will allow you to further refine your skills and influence the therapy services through your initiatives.

This position is permanent and part-time, operating term-time only – 3 days per week, 39 weeks per year.

Candidate Requirements:

  • (Essential) Registration with HCPC as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • (Desirable) Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders (ASC, ADHD, learning disabilities)
  • (Desirable) Previous experience in delivering therapeutic services within an educational framework
  • (Desirable) Membership in the RCSLT
