Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Lanpro Full time

Position: Principal Consultant for Historic Preservation

Location: Scotland

Compensation: Competitive based on experience

Employment Type: Permanent Full-time (flexible and remote work options available)

Lanpro is experiencing significant growth in our Historic Environment Team and is seeking motivated and skilled individuals to join us at a Principal level. We are on the lookout for passionate professionals with a strong background in archaeology and heritage, eager to advance their careers through involvement in substantial development projects.

The ideal candidates will possess a commercial mindset and be driven to tackle new challenges, providing reliable and consistent guidance to our clients. Contributing to the company's strategic growth, both regionally and nationally, will be a key aspect of this role.

Successful applicants will demonstrate an independent and proactive approach to their work, undertaking various responsibilities such as offering consultancy advice, overseeing the creation of desk-based assessments, and drafting heritage statements. Experience in working as part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, particularly on large-scale residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects, is essential, including the ability to author Cultural Heritage Environmental Statements. Familiarity with providing evidence and written representations for planning appeals is also desirable.

Collaboration with other members of the broader Lanpro team across various disciplines will be vital. A comprehensive understanding of relevant local and national planning policies and legislation is required, with experience at public inquiry level being advantageous.

Our heritage services complement the multidisciplinary planning, development, archaeology, and design services offered by Lanpro. Building on our reputation for delivering clear, practical, and commercially focused advice, we continue to expand, presenting an excellent opportunity for candidates to embrace new challenges at the forefront of our growth.

This role includes a competitive salary package with discretionary bonuses, a flexible working environment, and exceptional opportunities for career advancement.

Travel across the UK will be necessary, so a full driving license and access to a vehicle are required.

As part of our commitment to our team, we offer a range of benefits, including:

  1. Non-contractual growth bonus scheme
  2. Enhanced annual leave entitlement
  3. Loyalty leave (up to 5 days of continuous service accrued annual leave)

  6. Private medical insurance
  7. Enhanced company pension
  8. Death in service coverage
  9. Cash plan for health expenses
  10. Protected continuing professional development (CPD)
  11. Access to an e-learning portal
  12. Contribution to professional body membership
  13. Structured career progression framework with defined promotion opportunities
  14. Discounted gym membership
  15. Cycle to work scheme
