Peterborough, Peterborough, United Kingdom Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you an experienced speech and language therapist seeking to enhance your professional journey?

We are excited to present a unique opportunity for a Band 7 clinician to become part of our dedicated team at The Hollies, a facility that focuses on delivering care to adults with learning disabilities. The Hollies is transitioning to a more specialized 6-bedded unit, complemented by two single service units in the near future. Conveniently located, the facility offers free on-site parking and flexible working arrangements.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) at The Hollies, you will play a vital role in ensuring that each patient's experience is optimized. Your clinical responsibilities will encompass advanced communication strategies and dysphagia management, collaborating closely with patients and their caregivers.

In your capacity as the clinical lead for The Hollies, you will provide guidance on best practices and have the chance to influence the evolution of speech and language therapy (SLT) services. You will benefit from peer clinical supervision from fellow speech and language therapists specializing in learning disabilities within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area.

If you are prepared to make a significant impact on patient care, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Informal discussions about the role are welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will independently assess and manage a caseload of adults with complex learning disabilities. Your role will involve overseeing the implementation of specialized speech and language therapy interventions. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing all referrals concerning communication and/or swallowing difficulties (Dysphagia) within the Adult Learning Disability Inpatient Services.

The Hollies is evolving into a 6-bedded unit with additional flats planned for the future, specializing in inpatient services for adults with learning disabilities within the CPFT catchment area.
