Job Overview

Excelcare Holdings is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at our St Fillans Care Home in Colchester, Essex. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Care Assistants to deliver outstanding care and support to residents.
  • Work closely with the Home Manager and ancillary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring regular updates and reviews.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ.
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia is desirable.
  • Previous experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is desirable.
