Job Overview

Excelcare Holdings is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at our St Fillans Care Home in Colchester, Essex. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing physical, emotional, and social support to our residents, ensuring their dignity and respect are upheld at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants to deliver outstanding care and support to our residents.
  • Report to the Home Manager and collaborate with ancillary teams and other Senior Care Assistants to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, and dignity.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans and risk assessments to ensure the successful delivery of care.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ.
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Knowledge and practice of working with individuals suffering from dementia is desirable.
  • Previous experience prompting or administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is desirable, with full training and support provided.
