About the Role

The Royal Albert Hall is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Elgar Room Brasserie. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient service
  • Monitor food costs, inventory, and quality control
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to achieve kitchen goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality restaurant or hospitality operation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
