About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Therapist to join our Children, Young People and Families Team at Alliance Psychological Services Limited. As a Specialist Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy services to children, young people, and their families who have experienced complex trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake highly skilled assessments of clinical need, including risk assessments, considering children's developmental, attachment, trauma, and cultural needs.
  • Work to a clear clinical plan, providing outcomes-focused trauma and attachment therapy with children and families who have experienced trauma.
  • Explore and evaluate clinical treatment using evaluation tools, contributing to evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in triage work for the service, helping to ensure appropriate referrals into, and out of, the service.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Headteachers, Deputy Heads, SENCOs, Pastoral Team, and wider teaching staff.
  • Work with the Counselling Lead and Service Manager to promote and develop service links with affected families and partner agencies.
  • Ensure that the needs and views of children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a child and adolescent counsellor/psychotherapist working with children, young people, and families affected by trauma/bereavement.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing outcomes-focused therapy to children, young people, and their families.
  • Experience of sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues and other professionals.
  • Experience of participation in multi-agency planning and safeguarding work, including Early Help, Child in Need, and Child Protection meetings and processes.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Specialist training or experience in providing therapy using a trauma-focused approach to assessment and treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of person-centred therapeutic theory, practice, and interventions with CYPF.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals and work in partnership to agree therapy goals.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, with ability to keep concise and accurate records and produce informative well-written reports.
