Oral Medicine Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oral Medicine Specialist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Oral Health, you will be responsible for providing specialist secondary and tertiary Oral Medicine services for adults and children.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake outpatient clinics, new and follow-ups, with supervision of junior staff as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with dental and medical colleagues in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
- Develop and maintain good communication with General dental practitioners, colleagues in the salaried dental services, and local orthodontic specialist practitioners.
- Active involvement in Audit, Clinical Governance, morbidity and mortality meetings.
- Participation in the departmental educational activity.
- Share responsibility for data protection, particularly digital and electronic records.
- Ensure good clinical practice and continued professional development.
- The post holder will comply with infection control practices and any relevant trust policies and procedures with regards to Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.
- Supervision of the Specialist Registrars, DCTs, and therapists will be required.
- The appointee will participate in teaching of medical & dental students, dental DCTs, FY2s, StRs, OMFS trainees, and courses for General Dental Practitioners as required.
