We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our team at The Recruitment Co. in Cardiff Bay. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for recovering monies owed to clients in respect of credit-insured transactions, bonds, and uninsured debts placed for collections.
Key Responsibilities- Recoveries (insured clients) & Collections (uninsured clients): Responsible for the recovery of monies owed to clients in respect of credit-insured transactions, bonds, and of uninsured debts placed for collections.
- Direct Debt Chasing: Contact debtors by telephone to successfully collect on the debt that they owe.
- Liaison with 3rd Party Debt Collectors: Work with external debt collectors, legal representatives, and administrators/receivers to recover debts.
- Process Improvement: Responsible for the improvement of collection processes and results; reduce time to collection; decrease operating expense.
- Communication: Make follow-up communications a priority to ensure that customers keep their commitments.
- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of debts, implementing the agreed processes and systems to achieve desired goals and results.
- Relationship Management: Own and maintain the day-to-day relationship with client, debtors, and 3rd parties including negotiation over recommended action.
- Assessment and Preparation: Assess the cost effectiveness of taking legal action and prepare suitable cases for transfer to the in-house legal team or external parties.
- Customer Queries: Respond to customer queries on both standard and non-standard issues, ensuring a full investigation is completed to answer the customer query in full.
- Good Communication Skills: Good communication skills both verbal and written. In addition, will demonstrate the ability to present information clearly and identify technical information communicate this in a style appropriate to the audience.
- Sound Judgement: Sound judgement and ability to assess cost effectiveness of actions.
- Assessment and Identification: Ability to assess the situation and identify key factors.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiation skills, business orientation.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer focus.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build strong and productive relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Drive and Pressure: Drive, ability to work well under pressure.
- Previous Experience: Previous Customer service/Admin experience.
- Hybrid Working: Work from home 2 days a week and in the office 3 days a week.
- Holidays: 24 holidays a year + bank holidays.
- Bonuses: Eligible for bonuses.
- Salary: £24,000 a year.
