GSL Education is seeking a skilled and experienced School Caretaker/Handyman to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school premises.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the school site is safe and secure, including opening and closing the building, and conducting regular checks on heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs, including routine maintenance of school buildings and grounds, and undertaking minor repair work such as changing light bulbs, erecting shelves, and painting.
- Assist with cleaning duties, including litter, bins, and toilets, and deep cleaning of classrooms and school pool/changing rooms.
- Porterage of heavy objects, such as stock, furniture, or equipment.
- Oversee external contractors visiting the school site.
- Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are adhered to and raise any concerns in line with school policy.
- Hold a right to work within the UK.
- Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – Must be on the update service.
- 2x Educational References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
