HGV 2 Driver Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV 2 driver to join our team at Ashton Recruitment. As a HGV 2 driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of goods and materials to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on vehicles and report any defects immediately.
  • Check all products for damage and report any issues to the relevant authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with highway code and road safety legislation at all times.
  • Unload deliveries according to customer instructions and check contents against delivery manifests.
  • Complete deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
  • Check collections before signing documentation and ensure all administration is in order.
  • Assist with warehouse and yard housekeeping as required.
  • Return failed deliveries, damages, and returns to the warehouse promptly.
  • Liaise with delivery helpers when making deliveries.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures set out by the company.
Essential Criteria:
  • Valid UK Category C Driving Licence (HGV 2)
  • Valid CPC & Digital Tachograph
