About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. As a critical member of our team, you will be working primarily on theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as on the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Project Management: Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and delegated to team members.
  • Client Liaison and Team Collaboration: Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Project Oversight and Budget Management: Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Development and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression within the company.
  • Technical Expertise: Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer Status: Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred), with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Cost Estimation and Project Management: Proven track record of cost estimation and project management, with prior experience working with historic buildings highly desirable.
