Junior Control of Works

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Control of Works to join our dynamic team at our Sunbury Campus. Reporting to the Senior Control of Works within the engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of all works across site.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor high and low-risk activities on site, liaising with contractors, project managers, engineers, and soft services teams to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage the electronic permit system, issuing permits for high-risk activities such as working at height, ground disturbance, and hot works.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements provided by contractors and work owners, offering constructive feedback to enhance safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for internal engineering projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with contractors and work owners on a daily basis, fostering collaborative working relationships.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing job-related training programs, such as management of work at heights, hot works, and confined spaces.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and guidance for various disciplines, including working at heights, hot works, and lifting operations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling clear and concise interaction with clients, contractors, senior management, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Microsoft Word, Smartsheet, and Excel.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working within the facilities management industry.
  • Valid IOSH certification obtained within the last 2 years.
  • Previous experience issuing high-risk permits (e.g., working at height, hot works) is highly desirable.
  • Possession of IPAF and PASMA certifications is advantageous.
