Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Educational Support Assistants to provide individualized assistance to children with specific educational needs. The role involves working closely with students to enhance their learning experiences within the classroom environment.

Candidates with a background in supporting children with communication challenges and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs are preferred. Responsibilities

As an Educational Support Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Collaborating with the SENDCo and classroom teachers to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
  • Providing general assistance to the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and supporting specific students.
  • Helping to create and maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Promoting inclusivity and ensuring all students have equitable access to learning opportunities.
  • Working with individual students on various activities, adapting lessons to meet their needs.
  • Supporting students in developing their social skills, independence, and academic abilities.
  • Assisting with the implementation of tailored learning and therapy programs.
  • Aiding students with speech and language challenges, including supporting relevant training when necessary.
  • Collaborating with teachers and the SENDCo to develop and maintain Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Upholding the safety and well-being of all children within the educational setting.
