Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Automation Expert
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing bespoke automated machines and systems for our clients in various industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design and develop automated machines and systems that meet customer specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Project Management: Organize and manage meetings with customers in conjunction with the Project Leader.
- Procurement: Specify and obtain quotations for the purchasing of tooling and bought-out items.
- Reporting: Report on project progress via our reporting systems.
- Problem-Solving: Solve problems and initiate corrective actions to ensure project completion.
- Documentation: Assist with the preparation of manuals and other related documents.
- Design Specifications: Create pneumatic specifications and diagrams.
- Control Systems: Assist in the control specification and sequencing documents.
- Sensor Selection: Specify all sensors and ancillary equipment needed to achieve the final design.
- Design Standards: Work with and improve our design and build standards.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Hold suitable engineering qualifications to degree standard or equivalent.
- Experience: Possess several years' relevant experience.
- Skills: Be innovative, creative, and able to work at both the conceptual and detailed level.
- Teamwork: Work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Leadership: Display leadership through personal example and be effective at problem-solving.
- Communication: Be a good communicator with good listening and presentation skills.

What We Offer:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Automation Experts, you will receive an annual salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000, depending on your experience.
