Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Research Nurse to join our Screening team at hVIVO. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership and oversight of screening/outpatient services, ensuring that they are delivered in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the screening/outpatient areas, including workload allocation and staff supervision.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the clinical environment, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Line manage a team of screening nurses and phlebotomists, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Ensure that all staff are competent in performing their daily tasks and that they are up-to-date with the latest clinical procedures and protocols.
  • Support the Clinical Trainer in the supervision and mentoring of new staff, including assessment and training in the clinical environment.
  • Develop and maintain site-related documents, such as SOPs, logs, and inventory checklists.
  • Oversee the supply of clinical consumables, equipment maintenance, emergency procedures, and staff training.
  • Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance quality at a cross-departmental level.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in running a high-volume outpatient clinic/service or Phase I or II clinical trials.
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of clinical supervision.
  • Previous experience of managing a clinical team.
  • Competence in recording clinical assessments, such as vital signs, ECG, and phlebotomy, and the ability to learn new skills and train others in those skills.
  • Good GCP knowledge and experience in clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team and create a productive and satisfying work environment.
  • Valid Immediate Life Support certification.
  • Registration with the NMC.
