We are excited to present an opportunity for a skilled Cost Estimator Specialist to join PEOPLE3CONSTRUCTION LTD, a prominent player in the modular construction sector.
In this role, you will take charge of preparing and coordinating comprehensive estimates for building services across various project types and sizes, in accordance with client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Tender Launch meetings.
- Establish an organized Electronic Tender Folder on the server.
- Examine tender drawings, specifications, Room Data Sheets, and related documents to facilitate accurate cost estimates and contractor proposals.
- Communicate with clients to address any inquiries or requests for information regarding the tender.
- Collaborate with technical teams to gather design details necessary for precise pricing aligned with project layouts.
- Evaluate risk levels associated with tenders and projects.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness and profitability of products.
- Engage with industry experts to discuss tenders and resolve any challenges.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing from multiple wholesalers.
- Lead and attend various meetings to fulfill tender requirements.
- Assist in bidding for new contracts and support procurement activities.
- Compile cost estimates and contractor proposals by analyzing material, labor, and equipment needs, along with evaluating quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Participate in internal adjudication meetings for tenders.
- Maintain a tracker for submissions to ensure comprehensive records of all bids.
- Prepare material lists during the tender phase for streamlined ordering in related projects.
- Ensure accuracy and currency of costing spreadsheets and contractor proposal language.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager and material representatives to enhance support and stay updated on new products.
- Facilitate the launch and handover processes between Estimating and Pre-Construction teams, defining allowances and assumptions made during the tender.
- Input allowances from the tender stage into the project analysis tracker for each project.
Qualifications:
- Experience with modern construction methods or temporary building solutions.
- Background in Production Line Manufacturing.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
- Able to generate estimates of varying magnitudes.
- Understanding of cost-based risk analysis.
