Yard Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FLT Yard Supervisor to join our team at Mj Quinn Integrated Services Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our yard area, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials in and out of the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and prioritize the day-to-day activities of the yard area, ensuring all relevant Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
- Ensure the yard personnel maintain a clean, neat, and tidy yard
- Ensure the safe control of vehicles in and out of the yard area
- Implement and maintain general housekeeping processes to ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Oversee site plant equipment and ensure equipment is safe, operational, and appropriately secured
- Manage deliveries, ensuring vehicles are loaded/unloaded in a safe manner and all appropriate paperwork and documentation
- Conduct monthly safety/yard inspections, document findings/observations, and distribute to management personnel
- Manage the logistics of all materials, ensuring proper storage and avoiding congestion in the yard
- Ensure any maintenance issues are recorded and reported to stakeholders
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and management of Standard Operating Procedures and best working practices
- Drive health & safety improvements and engagement with staff
- Monitor and manage the performance of the team
- Ensure all yard staff are fully trained in the safe movement of product, implementing and adhering to Safe Systems of Work
- Assist in the management of control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved
Requirements:
- Banksman training
- In-date FLT license
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in yard management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations
- Ability to supervise a team effectively
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and AS400
- Familiarity with transportation management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
