Operations Manager Job Description

At Amazon, we're looking for a talented Operations Manager to join our team. As an Operations Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sites, driving efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence
  • Manage operational teams on a shift, addressing issues, and driving site performance
  • Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
  • Design and deliver initiatives to enhance operational performance across sites
A Day in the Life:

As an Operations Manager, you'll lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as a key link between various teams. You'll be responsible for mentoring and coaching your team, providing leadership and support to help them excel in their roles.

Every day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, analyzing performance and risk metrics, and preparing for varying levels of demand. You'll be a source of guidance and expertise, helping your team make informed decisions and drive business success.

Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience in a similar logistical working environment
  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
