Job Description:

At Real, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering activities at one of our key manufacturing sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  1. Strategic Leadership

Provide strategic direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Team Development

Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Engineering Operations

Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Process Improvement

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements within the engineering department.

Collaboration

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to support manufacturing operations and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on engineering and manufacturing operations
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, FDA, MHRA)
  • Project management skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies used in engineering/manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant practical work expertise in a similar position
