Assistant Shop Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our retail team at Cats Protection. As a key member of our shop management team, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth, improving customer experience, and supporting the work of our charity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in achieving sales targets and improving shop profitability through effective day-to-day operational management.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Cats Protection, embodying our values and behaviours, and taking responsibility for the shop operation in the absence of the Shop Manager.
  • Lead and motivate a team of employees and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Manage cash reconciliation and financial controls, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
About Our Retail Team:

Our retail operation consists of over 80 charity shops, each with its own unique character and charm. Our dedicated volunteers and colleagues work tirelessly to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers, offering a wide range of products from vintage items to everyday essentials.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team to achieve their best.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and customers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
