About the Role

As a Software Team Lead, you will play a key role in the development of our cutting-edge Integrated Platform Management Systems (IPMS) for the UK Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the control software team, including development of the capability, management of resource demand, recruitment, and optimization of processes across all MAPPS UK Ltd projects.
  • Take a leading role in the development of all software engineering processes, covering Agile approaches, configuration control, safety-related development, improvement, and evolution of process and procedure.
  • Set clear standards and procedures for the software aspects of project development and delivery, tracking project progress, and generating reports to stakeholders.
  • Act as the Software Technical Authority on the T26 PMS project, covering resource allocation in Sprint Teams, estimation, progress tracking, client liaison on Software Engineering issues, and develop initiatives to improve quality and productivity.
  • Manage and develop a team of software engineers, fostering great communication between team members and vertically through the organization.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Software Engineering role.
  • Experience of leading and making improvements to software development methodologies (Agile and/or Waterfall) and processes.
  • Experience in configuration control and change processing.
  • Experience of leading software engineering development projects through the software lifecycle.
  • An appreciation of a software language would be beneficial.
