We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Management Lead to join our Finance Directorate at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. In this crucial role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the financial health and stability of our division.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert financial guidance and support to divisional managers, fostering a culture of financial responsibility and accountability.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes within the division, aligning with Trust-wide systems and best practices.
- Champion initiatives aimed at enhancing data quality across the division, contributing to accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Proactively manage financial risks and control risks associated with financial systems, ensuring comprehensive documentation within Datix, our risk management system.
- Collaborate closely with the corporate finance team, internal audit, and external auditors, providing support for reviews and implementing recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
- Provide timely and relevant financial information to the commissioning team, supporting contract negotiations with commissioners and actively participating in discussions as required within approved Trust-wide frameworks.
- Oversee the reconciliation of divisional establishment to pay budgets, monitor the financial impact of vacancies, and work with HR to develop a sustainable workforce strategy.
- Lead the production of reference costs for the division, ensuring timely submission in accordance with national guidelines.
- Manage the costing and agreement of significant internal and external recharges within Trust guidelines, representing both the division and the Trust (private patients) as needed.
- Provide effective leadership to your team, overseeing recruitment, personal development, appraisals, absence recording, and disciplinary matters.
- Contribute actively to the Finance Directorate Senior Management Team, shaping the future direction of the finance function across the Trust and providing training to non-financial managers within and outside the division.
- Support and deputize for the Head of Financial Management as required.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance your professional knowledge and competence.
- Participate actively in personal objective setting and review, including the development of a personal development plan and engagement with the Trust's appraisal process.
