We are in search of a Computer Scientist or Software Architect who will contribute to the development, optimization, and maintenance of our sophisticated real-time control systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a skilled team of scientists and engineers to design and implement modular, dependable, and scalable operational systems.
  • Work alongside various subsystem teams to devise innovative solutions for intricate challenges.
  • Lead the design and development of verifiable software that operates efficiently in parallel across multiple machines and architectures, while enhancing our software architecture for future scalability.
  • Assist in experimental processes and adapt to new insights from the Physics team.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing and code reviews to elevate product quality.

Essential Qualifications

Top Three Attributes for Candidate Evaluation

  1. Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex computing issues in resource-limited environments.
  2. Strong understanding of reliable networking methodologies, data structures, and systems modeling.
  3. Experience with collaborative development practices, version control, validation, and unit testing.

Required Skills

  • A proven successful project developed in a modern, high-level programming language showcasing an optimal algorithm and efficient data structuring.
  • An understanding of the implications of deploying software in a distributed live computing environment.
  • Familiarity with standard networking architectures and protocols.
  • Proficiency in Git and experience with collaborative design, development, and code reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation.
  • Capability to quickly learn new concepts through research and reading.
  • Effective presentation of ideas to engineers and scientists, with the ability to identify compromises and trade-offs.
  • Willingness to regularly attend our facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in developing commercial-quality software within a collaborative setting.
  • Aptitude for swiftly diagnosing and fixing software bugs.
  • Experience in programming for multi-node systems.
  • Openness to learning new tools and programming languages.
  • Prior experience working alongside hardware and/or research teams.
  • Exposure to embedded systems and real-time computing.
