About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team at Universal Quantum, where you will play a key role in the design and development of cutting-edge electronics systems for quantum computers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex electronics systems, including hardware and software components, to enable the operation of quantum computers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists, to ensure seamless integration of electronics systems with other components.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of electronics circuits and verification tests, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electronics engineering and apply this knowledge to improve the design and performance of our systems.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in high-performance electronics design, including digital, analog, and embedded systems.
  • Proven expertise in PCB design using ECAD tools, such as Altium or similar.
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and VNA.
  • Strong understanding of digital system integration using HDL and high-level programming languages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • At least 2.1 BEng/BSc degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • British citizenship or a valid work permit for the UK.
Desirable Skills
  • Background in RF engineering, research, metrology, and instrumentation.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, high-speed digital, and EMC.
  • Experience with C and/or scripting languages, such as Python and Matlab.
  • Experience with Labview.
  • Pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices.
  • Team and/or project management experience.
