Housing Allocation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Allocation Specialist to join our Housing Solutions team at West Northamptonshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering an efficient housing allocation service, ensuring the Council's housing register is administered in accordance with our Housing Allocation Scheme, service procedures, and national legislation and guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritise new applications to the housing register
- Support customers placing bids on properties and shortlisting bids
- Provide comprehensive housing advice and information to households in housing need
- Ensure households are supported with appropriate interventions, requiring excellent communication skills
You will have previous experience providing excellent advice and assistance to a wide range of people who may have complex and challenging behaviour. You will also have worked collaboratively with other organisations to meet these complex needs. This role is based in Northampton but will require occasional travel within West Northants.
What We Offer- A 12-month fixed-term contract
