Join Our Team as a Housing Allocation Specialist

A fantastic temporary opportunity has emerged with one of our esteemed Local Authority Clients for a Housing Allocation Specialist. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely for 80% of the week, with only one day required in the office.

The position entails a commitment of 37 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for an initial duration of 3-6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively implement the Allocations Policy to maximize the utilization of available properties.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, housing associations, and relevant agencies to fulfill policy objectives in property allocation, attending necessary liaison meetings.
  • Contribute to a team effort in advertising and letting council and RSL homes to applicants on the housing register or those in need of emergency temporary accommodation due to potential homelessness.
  • Address issues with RSLs regarding unmet nomination arrangements, under the guidance of the Team Leader.
  • Offer information and guidance on mobility schemes, including options for relocation outside of London, Seaside, and Country Homes, as well as any new mobility initiatives that may arise.
  • Ensure efficient administration of the allocation of all housing resources to meet customer needs and uphold the Council's Housing Allocation Scheme.
  • Advertise available properties and manage shortlisting processes to coordinate viewings.

Essential Qualifications:

Experience in allocating both temporary and permanent accommodation, along with familiarity with Home Connections or similar Choice Based Lettings systems, is crucial.
