- Facilitate the accommodation of children and young individuals, and initiate care proceedings when necessary.
- Develop care plans in collaboration with children, their families, and other care providers based on thorough assessments.
- Prepare court statements and provide testimony in court on behalf of the local authority when required.
- Advocate for the welfare of children in need, considering their unique backgrounds, including age, health, culture, and life experiences.
- Deliver verbal and written reports for child protection conferences, strategy meetings, planning sessions, and reviews.
- Maintain and enhance relevant skills and knowledge of current legislation, policies, and social work practices.
- Engage in supervision and performance evaluations actively.
- Contribute to team meetings and organizational initiatives aimed at service development.
- Ensure accurate and timely electronic case records are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Oversee that all case expenditures are properly authorized and documented, with regular monitoring and reviews of financial packages.
- Serve as the duty officer on a rotational basis as directed by management.
- Report any concerns regarding abuse or misconduct by colleagues in alignment with the organization's Whistle Blowing Policy.
- Adhere to all relevant legislation and local policies concerning health and safety.
