Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Endoscopy Access Coordinator to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. As an Endoscopy Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Compile and update elective theatre lists in our system to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Communicate with patients to offer admission dates and provide clear instructions.
  • Create waiting list entries for patients and manage their appointments efficiently.
  • Coordinate elective admissions for cancer patients and ensure timely scheduling.
  • Book procedures in an orderly manner and manage bookings for different types of patients.
  • Liaise with other specialties to schedule complex cases and ensure seamless coordination.
  • Manage re-bookings and cancellations efficiently to minimize disruptions.
  • Keep track of consultant leave and confirm list status in advance to ensure continuity.

Waiting List Management and Validation

  • Proactively manage patient pathways to avoid breaches and ensure compliance with referral to treatment rules.
  • Understand and apply cancer and diagnostics targets to optimize patient care.
  • Identify and address issues affecting the RTT pathway to ensure timely treatment.

Requirements

  • NVQ 4 in customer care or equivalent.
  • Experience in a patient-facing role, preferably in the NHS.
  • Strong understanding of data protection and patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of patient appointment systems and RTT pathways.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
