About the Role:
Budwood, a leading provider of residential care and support services, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team in Southampton. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and guidance to children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide flexible and individual care packages to meet the unique needs of each young person
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a safe and supportive living environment
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals
- Encourage the development of individual interests and skills, promoting independence and self-confidence
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those with emotional behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of the issues facing young people in care and the importance of providing a stable and supportive environment
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including sleep-ins, on a rotational basis
- Hold a relevant qualification in residential childcare or a related field (e.g. Diploma in Residential Childcare, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work-related travel
- Ability to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level
