Job Overview

This position is responsible for leading the Financial Systems Team at Turnitin, utilizing a deep understanding of ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, along with other essential business applications. The role encompasses the management of all financial systems, the enhancement of processes, and the creation of custom scripts and integrations throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ERP System Management: Direct the administration, customization, and enhancement of the NetSuite ERP system, including SuiteScript and SuiteTalk (SOAP/REST) API integrations. Ensure strong security measures, data integrity, and alignment with business processes.
  • Custom Development and Automation: Create and sustain custom scripts using SuiteScript 2.0 to automate workflows and improve system capabilities. Design and manage intricate workflows, Suitelets, and user event scripts to fulfill business needs.
  • API Integration: Plan, execute, and maintain integrations between NetSuite and other financial systems utilizing SuiteTalk (SOAP/REST) APIs, as well as external RESTful APIs. Guarantee smooth data transfer and synchronization across platforms.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of financial systems experts. Leverage experience in managing technical teams to cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and promote ongoing improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement effective processes and software configurations, ensuring a robust internal controls framework. Utilize experience in Agile methodologies and continuous deployment to optimize financial operations.
  • Strategic Development: Manage the planning and prioritization of system enhancements and future ERP system versions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align financial systems with the company's strategic goals, employing API integrations and custom scripts to support these initiatives.
  • Integration and Automation: Spearhead the integration of new entities into existing financial systems. Use expertise in integration platforms to boost process automation and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery. Manage the governance of master data and business rule calculations.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with internal stakeholders, including IT and senior management, to understand and address business requirements. Employ strong communication skills to translate complex needs into actionable plans.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide prompt technical support for all financial applications, including troubleshooting and optimizing custom scripts. Manage incident resolution through relevant tools, ensuring that all system-related issues are addressed and resolved swiftly.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with vendors supporting financial systems. Ensure that service agreements are upheld and that system upgrades and enhancements are delivered according to business requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to promote best practices across financial systems management, contributing to a culture of ongoing enhancement in alignment with the Finance Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with NetSuite ERP, including SuiteScript (1.0 and 2.0) and SuiteTalk APIs, along with other financial applications.
  • Demonstrated success in developing custom scripts, building API integrations, and automating processes within NetSuite.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring technical teams, focusing on financial systems and ERP implementation.
  • Strong project management abilities, with experience in Agile and continuous deployment environments.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on schedule in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and translate technical concepts into strategic business solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal controls and governance structures for financial systems.
