We are seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Specialist to join our team at the Met Office. As a key member of our People Development Team, you will play a crucial role in enabling our employees and external customers to develop their expertise and performance in the fields of weather and climate science and services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply a broad knowledge of Met Office strategies, plans, and performance needs, in line with our People Development Plan.
- Design and deliver inclusive learning and development interventions, utilizing a wide range of methods, including face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid learning events, as well as recorded video, audio, curated content, and blended self-directed learning tools.
- Drive continuous improvement and assure the quality of our work, including collaboration and the adoption of new practices or tools, and through lessons identified via our evaluation process.
- Ensure alignment of learning to our People Development plan and People Framework.
- Maintain currency and grow expertise in L&D practice, ensuring learning interventions and assessments incorporate emerging evidence-based practice and industry best practice.
- You are an expert in operational meteorology, allowing you to maintain credibility in the design and delivery of impactful training.
- You have a demonstrable passion for personal and professional self-development, and use this to help others.
- You are focused on outcomes that contribute to customer and Met Office success, independently and as part of a team.
