Our company has a strong heritage in Infrared Detectors since the 1950s, with designed and built products playing a crucial role in providing visibility and situational awareness. Due to significant demand for product development in this area, we are seeking an Analogue Electronics Engineer to contribute to the development of products and their associated test solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on a mixture of product development and supporting test hardware, including requirement capture, schematic capture and PCB Layout, circuit simulation, and design review process.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions and manufacturing to drive the design and development of products.
  • Design and implement design verification tests and supporting documentation to ensure smooth transition into production.
  • Work with specialist technologies relating to Infrared Detectors, including electro-optic test benches, black bodies, and lasers.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or related science with some specialisation in electronic techniques.
  • Analogue circuit design experience.
  • Experience of PCB development tools and process.
  • Experience of DFx (designing for cost, test, and manufacturability).
  • Experience in System level and sub-system integration and debug.
  • Electro-Optics experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink beneficial.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of device drivers and communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, Camera Link).
  • Experience of hardware design using FPGA components.
  • Experience in designing with video bandwidth op-amps for low noise applications and Analogue to Digital converters.
  • Experience in undertaking component selection and de-rating analysis.
  • Ability to work to recognised standards, such as MIL-STD and IPC-610 specifications.
  • Practical soldering/workshop skills.
