About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Social Care Worker to join our team in North Somerset. As a key member of our Adult Social Care Locality Team, you will work closely with Deaf/Deafblind individuals, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Care Act Assessments and develop care plans that prioritize the strengths and needs of Deaf individuals.
  • Collaborate with Health and Social Care colleagues, as well as voluntary sector agencies, to ensure seamless support for Deaf community members.
  • Organize Deaf Awareness Week annually, promoting education and understanding within the community.
  • Attend Deaf community groups to provide support, information, and advice as needed.
  • Consider equipment needs for Deaf/deafblind/hard of hearing individuals in their home environment.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with the Deaf community in a strength-based way.
  • Good knowledge of Deaf awareness.
  • British Sign Language (BSL) at level 2 or above.
  • Background or understanding of health and social care or transferable skills.
  • IT skills to enable training on various in-house IT systems.
