Job Purpose

The Prax Upstream Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company's environmental objectives are met throughout its exploration, appraisal, development, operations, and decommissioning activities. This includes ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory provisions, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards throughout the entire lifecycle of Prax's onshore and offshore operations.
  • Verify and manage greenhouse gas emissions trading schemes.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, including drilling, pipeline operations, wells, production operations, decommissioning, and standalone permits.
  • Administer the Environmental Emissions Management System (EEMS) database, set OSPAR EEMS requirements, and prepare environmental impact assessments and statements.
  • Propose and monitor annual environmental targets and objectives, as well as weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental returns.
  • Manage approved permits and consents, report on non-compliance, and track chemical usage.
  • Record environmental training, exercises, and drills, and submit annual returns to relevant authorities.
  • Oversee waste management and conduct audits.
  • Liaise with other industry operators to exchange environmental information and best practices.
  • Represent Prax at environmental forums and meetings.
  • Lead environmental survey responses and consultations.
  • Conduct audits and monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Manage environmental commitment lists and interface with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in emergency response management and ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and quality (HSSE&Q) protocols.
  • Establish and review environmental policies and plans to ensure they remain current and effective.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or equivalent relevant to the oil and gas industry.
  • Chartered membership of a professional environmental body.
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in UKCS field development, including knowledge of reporting and operational requirements.
  • Proven environmental leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of current environmental indicators and techniques for enhancing EH&S performance.
  • At least 10 years' industry experience.
  • Highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multi-disciplined teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
