Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Kelston Sparkes Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy machinery within our geographical area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively undertake maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of machinery, including hydraulic excavators, articulated haulers, wheeled loaders, dozers, rollers, crushers, and screens.
  • Workshop-based and mobile vacancies available.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and meet our business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and method statements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with our management team to ensure that onsite requirements and breakdowns are addressed promptly.
  • Compile accurate parts lists using manufacturers' platforms.
  • Lead complex multi-engineer tasks and work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, depending on the requirements of the task.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 3 plant maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Product knowledge of Cat, Volvo, Finlay, Gipo, and Metso equipment.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills, including electrical and hydraulic systems, and aftertreatment systems.
  • Able to use manufacturers' diagnostic equipment, such as Cat ET and Volvo Tech Tool.
  • IT literate and proficient in using software applications.
  • Strong attitude towards health and safety.
  • Able to complete detailed risk assessments and method statements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
  • Compile accurate parts lists using manufacturers' platforms.
  • Hold a full driving license.
  • Desirable qualifications: slinger/signaller, MEWP, confined space training.
