Plant Operator

Our client based on the outskirts of Witney, Oxfordshire (near Stanton Harcourt) are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join their team on a permanent contract. The client are a market leading environmental recycling company.

**Operational duties**:

- Completing daily start up inspections of mobile plant. Recording results on the inspections sheets and informing the site supervisor of any defects.
- Ensuring mobile plant is kept is a clean condition by washing down regularly.
- Undertaking light maintenance of machines including greasing as per machine specifications and clearing debris on a regular basis and in accordance with company safe working practice.
- Ensuring good housekeeping within the work area throughout the day and at the end of the day.
- Enforcing traffic management
- Ensuring health and safety aspects are being adhered to and recording any near misses which arise.
- Ensuring that customer vehicles are tipped in line with turnaround time requirements
- Loading vehicles as required for the onward transportation of waste.
- Ensure waste being loaded is rotated to ensure that it does not excess the maximum storage limitation as set out in the site license.
- Liaising with other site staff regarding the movement of waste.
- Liaising with supervisor to ensure that waste is moved efficiently and as required
- Monitoring fuel usage and reporting to site supervisor when resources are running low.
- Assisting with other plant operatives duties when necessary
- Ensure all waste is securely stored
- Ensure all lights & equipment are switched off
- Ensure all vehicles are inside of the building and keys are placed in the key press
- Ensure all staff and visitors have signed out and have left the building
- Ensure all fire doors are locked
- Check the Fire alarm panel for any faults to ensure fire system is active
- Ensure all external doors and windows are closed and locked
- Ensure that the air compressors is turned off
- Ensure that the fans are switched to automatic
- Ensure that the building intruder alarm is set
- Ensure that gate and walkway gate is locked upon leaving premises.
- Qualified machine operator
- Experience in operating a loading shovel
- Current license desirable

**Job details**:

- 12 week temporary to permanent placement, initially through the agency and then transferred to client at end of probation period.
- £12.48 per hour + overtime
- Weekly pay
- Immediate start available
- Monday - Friday (46.25 hours per week)
- Occasional Saturday’s required on rota basis

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
