Job Summary

The Director of Procurement is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic sourcing and procurement activities for the company.     • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and international standards
    • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of procurement transactions and contracts
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand and meet their procurement needs
    • Provide regular updates and reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and market conditions to the executive team
    • Represent the procurement function in cross-functional meetings and strategic planning sessions
  • Technology and Process Optimization
    • Implement and leverage procurement software and technologies to enhance efficiency and transparency
    • Streamline procurement processes, reducing cycle times and improving responsiveness
    • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and best practices, integrating them into the procurement strategy

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field; CPSM, CIPS) is preferred
  • Significant experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within the maritime or shipping industry
  • Proven track record of successful strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and team leadership
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of operational maritime regulations and industry standards
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
